Lebenslange Freiheitsstrafe für Lübcke-Mörder

Im Prozess um den Mord am CDU-Politiker Walter Lübcke hat das Oberlandesgericht Frankfurt den Hauptangeklagten Stephan E. zu lebenslanger Haft verurteilt. Zudem stellten die Richter:innen am Donnerstag die besondere Schwere der Schuld fest. Damit ist eine Haftentlassung nach 15 Jahren so gut wie ausgeschlossen. Eine anschließende Sicherungsverwahrung behielt sich das Gericht vor. Die Richter:innen sahen es als erwiesen an, dass E. in der Nacht zum 2. Juni 2019 den nordhessischen Regierungspräsidenten auf dessen Terrasse im Landkreis Kassel erschossen hat. Der 47-Jährige handelte demnach aus einem rechtsextremistischen Motiv. Der ursprünglich wegen Beihilfe zum Mord an Lübcke angeklagte Markus H. wurde wegen eines Verstoßes gegen das Waffengesetz verurteilt. Das OLG verurteilte H. zu einer Bewährungsstrafe von einem Jahr und sechs Monaten.
