Adhan raised in New York after decree allowing for call to prayer on Friday and during Ramadan

The Muslim call to prayer, or adhan, was raised in a municipal building in New York on Tuesday, during a conference to sign a decree that will allow mosques across the US city to broadcast the adhan on Fridays and during evening prayers throughout the month of Ramadan. New York now joins other cities, including Minneapolis, which have introduced similar measures.
