US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Israel-Palestinian Affairs, Andrew Miller, visited the Palestinian town of Turmus Ayya in the occupied West Bank on Tuesday, more than a month after it was attacked by Israeli settlers. Miller met with local Palestinian residents to discuss settler violence. He offered his condolences to the family of a Palestinian man killed in the attacks and reaffirmed the commitment of the United States in ensuring freedom, security and prosperity for Palestinians and Israelis in equal measure. On 21 June, hundreds of Israeli settlers, many of them armed, rampaged through the town of Turmus Ayya under the protection of Israeli soldiers, setting agricultural land on fire and vandalising homes and vehicles.
